Service dog training is a customized program, and training length and structure are determined based on the dog, the required tasks, and the needs of the handler.
Please note that completion of a training program does not automatically qualify a dog as a legally recognized service dog. Public access rights are determined by federal law and depend on the dog’s ability to perform trained tasks that mitigate a handler’s disability.
Graduation and Owner Instruction
Every board and train program includes a private graduation lesson where we teach you how to maintain and continue your dog’s training at home.
You’ll leave with the knowledge and tools needed to ensure your dog’s training remains consistent and reliable.

Kim Hicks, founder of The Dogs Spot, is a professional dog trainer with decades of experience helping dogs and their owners succeed. She has earned more than 60 titles in competitive dog sports, including five Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) titles across four different breeds, a rare accomplishment that reflects her deep understanding of dog training and behavior. Her approach focuses on building dogs that are reliable, confident, and a pleasure to live and work with.
